Standing
at the dawn of a new millenium it is clear that the coming
century will be very different from the last. The expectations
of our students now, differ greatly from those in the past and
we therefore have a responsibility to satisfy these demands. A
responsibility to help our students in achieving their true
potential development in a global environment and in light of
this responsibility we are working hard to fulfil their
ultimate goals.
Our
students realize that the ability to work professionally in an
international environment requires a high level of
understanding in a person’s given specialist field.
Therefore, in seeking to establish global standards of
education within each of the University’s nine faculties and
graduates school , Trisakti actively engaged in offering
international examinations to students and securing
accreditation from overseas universities. Trisakti University
also maintains as continuing commitment to upgrading existing
programs in line with academics developments.
Students
wishing to take advantage of the rapidly changing society
within the e global context also realise that the ability to
communicate is a necessary prerequisite. Trisakti therefore
places particular emphasis on providing students and staff
members with language facilities, language programs and
opportunities for regular interaction with foreign language
speakers. In doing so, English has become the second language
on campus and is now a mandatory graduation requirement in a
number of faculties.
In
addition to this though, students need the opportunity to
choose from a comprehensive list of subjects relevant to
future global needs. At present, Trisakti University is in the
process establishing an E-commerce program for students eager
to take advantage of business opportunities available on the
internet. It is also constructing a training center for
hospitality management program. These initiative though, are
but two examples from a long list of developments in Trisakti’s
history, occuring as it has continued to evolved.
Trisakti’s
global vision has grown out of its ability to change. The
University has never been satisfied by continuing to offer
identical programs each and every year as students expects
modern, up-to-date materials. They are unlikely to progress
sitting in crumbling classrooms reading dusty textbooks and as
such Trisakti is working to make sure this does not happen.
The University is not only investing heavily in the renovation
of its existing facilities but it is also constructing a new
campus to the eastern part of Jakarta. The University is also
committed to allocating more resources for educational
materials and guest lecturers.
However,
in implementing these policies, Trisakti recognises the need
to upgrade its administration system, according to both global
and Indonesian standards, so as to improve the University’s
responsiveness. As such, a clearer, more students friendly
administration system is being established in order to cut
down on waiting times and eliminate any ambiguities in a
student’s status.
Trisakti
is working in perspectives for future betterment in global
scheme. The world is changing and we are changing too in order
to give Trisakti students the very best educational
preparation for the global challenges they will face in the
years to come.
