ACADEMIC GOALS OF UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
(S1) FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
The Faculty of Dentistry aims to prepare
its students to become professionals in the areas of health
and dentistry. Successful graduates from the Faculty are given
certificates by the Consortium for Health Science (CHS) and
are required hold the morale values of Pancasila, the state
ideology.
Successful graduates must:  |
Be
aware that healthy teeth form an integral part of the overall
health of the human body. |

Be
able to treat problems concerning teeth and mouth as well as
helping to prevent such problems in a professional manner
within the best interests of the patient. |

Be
able to cooperate effectively and efficiently in a team
orientated situation relating to a relevant field of
expertise. |

Fully
comprehend and follow the ethics of dentistry. |
 |
Be
prepared to adapt to social and environmental change. |
 |
Fully
understand the importance of development within all scientific
fields relating to teeth and the mouth. |

Fully
understand the principles of health management and the need
for professional leadership. |
STUDY LOAD AND DURATION OF STUDY
The Faculty of Dentistry administers two
areas of study, as listed below:  |
S1
in Dental Surgery (B.D.S) - 145 credits |
 |
Profesional Dentistry Study Program- 30 credits |
In order to graduate, each student needs
145 credits. The standard length of study required to achieve
this is eight semesters though students are not permitted to
take over 14 semesters to gain the 145 credit graduation
prerequisite. The standard length of study required to
complete the Profesional Dentistry Study Program is 3
semesters.
